About Me

My photo
In the beginning... There was a little girl and her bobbets. Grown-ups called them slippers, but 'bobbets' fitted best. 'Bobbet' was the sound they made, as she dragged her feet across the ground. The years passed and the little girl grew, but she never did learn not to drag her feet across the ground. And though her bobbets are now slippers, her word has now come to mean anything she wants it to.

Surgery and pugs

I’ve never been very good at keeping a diary, or to the frustration of many art teachers, a sketch book. However, I thought it was about time to try and record some of my creative process. This first proper post may be a little bit garbled as I’m writing dosed up on painkillers after my dental surgery last Friday. I severely underestimated how painful the procedure would be and how ill the general anaesthetic would make me, but I’m looking forward to the benefits of a pain free jaw once the sockets have healed.

I have been a little bit quiet on my Etsy shop and sewing new projects has been put on hold during my healing process, but I do have a range of lovely things planned. These include 4 more frilly sock bears, some sock rabbits, age flowers and I will finally get round to finishing 11 miniature rag dolls that are patiently waiting for their limbs. I am also in the process of updating all my product photographs to a dark grey background.

Before my ‘break’ I had the pleasure of trading for the first time on Etsy with Karen from http://www.etsy.com/shop/karenmakesstuff. I had never considered trading before but found it a pleasant experience as Karen made a special needle felted pug for my friend’s birthday in exchange for Miri, a miniature rag doll. Here is the little pooch with his tongue sticking out just like the real dog he is based on. I’m sure my friend will love this and I can't wait to give it to her, so a huge thank you Karen!Little Felted Pug
